Bridging the Gap; Local Capacity Strategies for Resilience Amidst Uncertainty
A Talk by Eric Macadangdang , Emily Brown , Eric Raabe and Amelia Eggan
About this Talk
Since the onset of the pandemic, the landscape for community-based project development has rapidly shifted. Historic federal investments in climate resilience and environmental justice — through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act — sparked ambitious initiatives to address legacy pollution, infrastructure challenges, and inequitable access to essential services like transportation and food. However, these gains have been complicated by recent federal funding reversals, leaving many project teams in uncertainty.
In Southwestern Pennsylvania, local and regional intermediaries have stepped in to help municipalities, nonprofits, and schools navigate these shifts. This session will feature leaders from the Southwest Pennsylvania Municipal Project Hub, PA Solar Center, and CONNECT, who support project teams by refining vision, leveraging funding, and scaling community impact.
Panelists will share insights on:
- Communicating project success
- Accessing and managing funding streams
- Building effective partnerships
- Adapting to evolving federal policy
Attendees will leave with actionable strategies, tools, and resources to support their own project planning and development.
