This panel will explore Community Land Trusts (CLTs) as a powerful strategy for creating and preserving permanently affordable housing. Facilitated by Kelly Prokop, Senior Attorney at Regional Housing Legal Services, the conversation will highlight CLTs’ roots in the American Civil Rights Movement and examine their modern-day application.
Panelists from City of Bridges CLT (Pittsburgh) and Common Roots CLT (Meadville) will share how they are implementing innovative CLT models in their communities. City of Bridges will discuss creative financing approaches, including New Markets Tax Credits and multi-unit developments. Common Roots will spotlight their renting cooperative and self-help housing programs as pathways to wealth-building and stability.
